APFIP offers variety-consulting services on a fee-for-service basis in the area of plant protection including Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) and Trademarks in Australia . It can also arrange for variety protection for Australian plant material in the USA and EU. Australia is a signatory to UPOV (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants www.upov.org ) this ensures that our PBR law is in sync with other member countries.

The General Manager and Evaluation Coordinator are both qualified persons (QP's) for the purpose of completing PBR applications in Australia . To view the PBR processes and to search the PBR database follow this link: http://pbr.ipaustralia.optus.com.au/ 

Trademarks in Australia are approved and administered by IP Australia. It is possible to undertake a search of existing trademarks and to access an application form by visiting the IP Australia website. www.ipaustralia.gov.au
